The Boleyns were in particularly high spirits at dinner. “The clergy have been misusing their power!” George had been sent along with the Duke of Norfolk, Exeter, Oxford, Sandys and his father to deal with the Bishops and Abbotts. “The King is the supreme lawmaker and now maybe my sister may finally marry!” George raised a goblet in Anne’s direction. Anne caught his eye and raised a glass back.
